Symbolism and Craft: Aphrodite is the Greek goddess of love, beauty, and generative force. The Romans called her Venus, and in 1485 Sandro Botticelli painted her emerging from the sea in what became one of the most recognized images in Western art. The print on this dress draws from that painting, placing Venus among roses on a soft pink ground that reads romantic in natural light and warm in candlelight. The beadwork at the waist traces vine and leaf forms, and the sleeve hems carry the same detail; when the light catches them, the effect is subtle and alive. Diva Thea translated those references into a proprietary repeat print in soft pink, rose, and ivory for this collection; the source is documented, and the print is original in-house work.

The lining is cut to match the shell, so there's no temperature differential or bunching between layers. The soft pink reads as a warm blush in daylight and a deeper rose under warm interior light.

Beaded Waistband and Sleeve Hems

The waistband is embroidered with a vine and leaf pattern derived from the botanical elements in the Botticelli source. Beads are set at intervals within the embroidery. The sleeve hems carry a matching beaded trim that defines the edge of the sculptural wide sleeve without weighing it down.
The sleeve is wide and structured, allowing a full range of arm movement without pulling at the shoulder or armhole.
