Inanna’s eight-pointed star sits at the center of this scarf, framed by mirrored lions and roses in pink against deep burgundy. Fine lines run through the design. Seen up close, they form abstract vulvic shapes, a discreet reference to ancient depictions of female sexuality and vitality.

The scarf is made from 16 momme mulberry silk with a twill finish. It is printed on both sides and finished with a hand rolled edge.

Care Instructions

100% Mulberry Silk
Twill Weave

Washing
Hand wash only in cool water, 30°C maximum. Use a silk-specific detergent or a small amount of gentle shampoo. Do not use regular detergent, fabric softener, or anything containing enzymes or bleach. Submerge briefly, swirl gently, do not wring or rub.

Rinsing
Rinse in cool water until the water runs clear. Add a few drops of white vinegar to the final rinse to restore the natural sheen of the silk and remove any detergent residue.

Drying
Do not tumble dry. Roll the scarf in a clean white cotton towel to absorb excess water, then lay flat or hang to air dry away from direct sunlight. Direct sun fades silk and weakens the fiber over time.

Ironing
Iron on the lowest silk setting while slightly damp, on the reverse side only. Place a thin white cotton cloth between the iron and the fabric. Never iron on the printed or treated side directly.

Storage
Store flat or loosely rolled, never folded on a sharp crease for extended periods. Keep away from direct light and humidity. Avoid contact with perfume, deodorant, and hairspray.

Not at all. The scarf is crafted from 16 momme Mulberry silk, the exact weight standard used by classic French heritage fashion houses; giving it a rich, opaque density that feels substantial, sturdy, and luxurious rather than thin, sheer, or flimsy.

For the finish, every edge is meticulously rolled and stitched by hand using matching silk thread. Is the design printed on both sides?

Yes. The scarf has a double sided print, so the lions, roses, and central star are visible whichever way you tie it.

Will this silk scarf slip off my hair or neck?

Silk twill has a fine diagonal weave that gives it more texture than silk satin, so knots can hold more securely. It still feels smooth and may shift on very fine hair. For a firmer hold, tie it around a ponytail or use a small hairpin.
